For Organizations and Institutions
Hello!
My name is Brian, AKA “The IV Guy” 😊
I believe I can help you, and hospitals across the world improve patient satisfaction and cut costs associated with venipuncture using simple online video learning courses.
Hospitals in the US spend around $350M per year on IV insertion supplies, and around 30%-50% of IVs fail, a large percentage of that is either a failed initial insertion attempt, or improper insertion. Hospitals also spend an estimated $1Billion per year for needlestick injuries, which luckily only about 3%-5% happen with IV needles, but is still a significant figure. Both of these expenditures can be improved to a large degree with proper education and training.
Patient satisfaction scores typically rank lower due to unsuccessful attempts, and pain associated with venipuncture. It is my belief that in non-emergent insertion, pain is truly optional in most cases. By implementing a simple venipuncture pain management plan, along with education, hospitals can improve their patient satisfaction scores significantly.
Most nursing schools in the US provide very little instruction regarding IV insertion, which is the number one most common medical procedure in hospitals. As a nursing student today, you’ll be lucky to get any hands-on experience at all, maybe one or two attempts on a mannequin or your fellow classmates at most. Hospitals then expect new nurses to at least be proficient in the procedure by the time they get hired, and offer no additional training in the majority of cases. There seems to be a serious gap in education, which is why I created my business.
My company wwwTheIVGuy.com has been selling IV video courses to individual nurses and organizations since 2019, and I have amassed quite a few wonderful success stories. Over 10,000 students have taken my courses, and around 99% who reported have been successful in improving their practice using my specific visual teaching methods. Nursing schools such as UC San Diego, UC Davis, University of Michigan, OHSU, and Tesla MR Institute of MRI Technology all use my courses, along with a handful of hospitals across the US including UCSF here in California. I truly believe I can help hospitals reduce costs, improve their patient satisfaction scores, and help nurses become more confident and successful in their practice.
If you’re interested in bringing this education to your institution, please reach out by email Brian@TheIVGuy.com or fill out the form below, I’d love the chance to help!
